Afghanistan Journalists Center (AFJC) announced the name of five journalists as journalists of the year 2024.

During a meeting on this occasion, this organization announced that after a competitive program, Mohammad Tahir Ahmadi, reporter of Rakhshana Media, Faridullah Mohammadi, Mitra Majidi, Nasir Ahmad Saleh and Mohammad Amin Kavah were chosen as winners of this award.

In this program, which was held in person in Belgium and online in the Zoom application, Ahmad Qureshi, executive director of the Afghanistan Journalists Center, said that more than 40 national and local media from different places participated in this competition.

He added that after examining the reports and media works of the participants, the jury selected Tahir Ahmadi's report on the situation of Afghan refugees in Pakistan as one of the outstanding works.

It`s mentionable that the Journalist of the Year program in Afghanistan is held every year since 2014 on the occasion of Journalist's Day. In this program, the meritorious works of the journalists participating in this program are recognized and its winners are introduced as the reporter of the year.

Before this, many journalists from national and international media have been recognized as the winner of the Journalist of the Year by the Afghanistan Journalists Center.
