AVA Media: Close friends of a young girl confirmed her death this morning (Monday, 15 April) and said that her name is Tahira and she is from Daikundi province.

Tahira was in the fourth-year student of the Communication and Journalism Department of Kabul University. After the gates of the university were closed by the Taliban for girls, she was living in Kabul.

When she was mysteriously murdered in her room, she was studying English in Kabul to pass the international TOEFL exam.

According to Tahira's friends “She was an active girl and first the first position holder in her class in the university.” With thousands of hopes and dreams, Tahira did not give in to the restrictions imposed by the Taliban. She planned to pass the international TOEFL exam and go abroad to continue her higher education.

The Taliban security forces, however, say that Tahira committed suicide.
